Hi,
If the bird was not handfed, you will have to be patient and understand that it can take months or longer to train a wild cockatiel. He has to learn to trust you first. Never reach or grab for him. Cockatiels are prey birds so they think a predator is trying to catch them. I’ll give you the links to our behavior and training pages and they will help you work with your bird.
