My parakeet laid an egg with yellow yolk what does this mean

Hi,

Are you saying it doesn’t have a shell, or did the egg break? If there was no shell, this is very bad and you need to take the bird to an avian vet. If the egg just broke, then it is perfectly normal. Whether an egg is fertile or not, it starts out with a yolk and stays that was unless it is fertile and the parents sit on the egg.
