Why can’t related conure breed?

Why can’t i let my sun conures baby breeds

Answer:

Hi Kevin,

You should never breed related birds because they share the same genes. Any offspring will most likely be deformed or have genetic issues that will cause them to be unhealthy and not live very long. Often the chicks will not survive at all. It is considered to be very irresponsible to let related birds breed.

Thank you for asking Lafeber,
