Young male cockatiel angry after adding nest box

I added a nest box to my cockatiel pair in the wrong age, one day, I found the male has become fearful and very agressive (even with the female), but I removed it after some time when I learned it was really wrong, ensuring there are no eggs in it, and saved my female from egg binding

How long would it take the male to return to his old behavior?

Hi,

Since he is with a female, if he was a pet before, he won’t go back to being a pet as long as he is with another bird. He is going to be territorial and protective of her whether he has a nest box or not. The only way he would be a pet again would be to separate them, and if she remains in the same home, he will be more likely to call for her and still not return to being tame.
