I recently got my Indian ring-necked parakeet.. he’s just 3 months old, he sleeps a lot like 12 hours a day , I just wanna ask if that’s normal, he’s not sick or something right? I don’t know if sleeping that much is normal for baby parrots, pls know your help is appreciated!!

Baby birds can sleep a lot. What is important is how he is acting when he is awake. Does he eat and drink well? Is he active – play with toys, interact with you, explore his cage or outside of his cage when you have him out? Does he preen and groom himself? Does he make noise or try to vocalize? If he only sleeps, eats and drinks, then he may have something going on. If he seems sick, you should take him to an avian vet as soon as possible.
