I have a male budgie about 14 months old. He has started regurgitating. Most of the time its only 3-5 seeds but occasionally its more forceful and he regurgitates and the seeds go everywhere. Its not every day. Is it just him maturing or is it a problem? He’s active, eats well, droppings normal.

Yes, your little guy is mature and feeling hormonal. He’s not old enough for breeding, but he’s old enough to want to breed, he just isn’t mature enough. You can try watching to see if this is a response to a specific toy, a mirror or even a favorite perch. Or maybe he does it when he sees you. Sometimes there is no obvious trigger. If he is a bird you handle, then limit contact to head scratches to avoid triggering his hormones. Otherwise, don’t worry about it. A lot of birds do this, and usually it is intermittent. The main concern if he starts doing it all the time, obsessively, is loss of nutrients. He will definitely eat more if he regurgitates a lot.
