Egg laying

I’ve had my CAG for 12 months and she has just produced her 15 egg. Should I have the hormonal implant for her

Answer:

Hi Sheila,

You definitely need to do something. That is a dangerous amount of eggs for that period of time. There are environmental changes and changes in how you handle her that you need to make, as well as consulting with an Avian Vet. We have presented a number of webinars on hormones, because it is such an issue with pet birds. This one is particularly about Greys, so you may want to watch it to get some ideas of what not to do.

Thank you for asking Lafeber,

Brenda
