getting a cockatiel

Hello! My name is David and ive been thinking about getting a pet cockatiel and I have done all the research about them that I could have done but I only have one question and that is that every year Im going on vacations for about three weeks and there is a breeder who can take care of him but I wonder if thats a good Idea. I know that a bird maybe wouldnt be the right pet for me but I really do love them so I wonder if it would work or if the bird would get mad at me or something. Thanks

Answer:

Hi David,

Bird owners go on vacation all the time. It is best if you have someone who can come to your house to take care of him when you are gone. But otherwise, boarding him somewhere is fine. Birds will get mad at their owners sometimes when they get back in town, but the doesn’t last and soon the bird will get back to normal.

Thank you for asking Lafeber,

Brenda
