Indian ringnecks

Hi I have 2 blue ringnekks not sure if it’s male or female they are in between 8month in a big cage outside now I wanne know will it be possible 2 put 2 fully growing pair in there so they can breed will they fight or what plz help is wanted

Answer:

Hi,

You can’t put a breeding pair with young birds. They will fight, and they will probably end up killing the young birds. When you breed birds, you can only have one pair of birds per cage. Also, you should not breed Indian Ringnecks until they are about 3 years old. Since you don’t know the sex of the young birds, it’s not a great idea to have them together because they might try to breed too early. Ringnecks can be very aggressive towards each other, especially if one is ready to breed and the other isn’t. I would recommend having the young birds DNA sexed, or separate them until they are old enough to know what they are.
