Make cockatiel fighting

Hello, my cockatiels are on eggs for the past 5 days. The male is fighting with the hen for some reason. He doesn’t let her incubate during the day & comes out of the nesting box to fight with her. Why is he doing that?

Answer:

Hi Aimen,

Some male cockatiels will do this and it’s not fully understood why they act this way. You may have to remove the male to another cage during the day so he can eat and take a break while the female sits. It is very hard for either bird to incubate and raise chicks alone. Try separating him during the day and see if she takes over egg duty.

Thank you for asking Lafeber,

Brenda
