Male cockatile bird always hatching

why my male bird always hatching in the breeding box ? the female bird is always out side the breeding box , its there first breeding

Answer:

Hi Anas,

In captivity, some males cockatiels can get too involved with the incubation process. Some get aggressive and will not allow the female to enter the nest box. Normally one parent sits during the day, and the other sits at night. Since this is their first clutch, they will most likely make mistakes. The first clutch almost always fails because of the parents inexperience. If he is not attacking the female, I would leave them alone and let them work it out. They have to learn, so it is best not to intervene unless one of the parent’s well being is a concern. If the male is attacking the female and keeping her from her eggs, then you can try removing him at night to let the female sit on the eggs. Make sure they have plenty of privacy and try not to check on them too often unless you hear fighting. Hopefully they will work things out, learn and if not this time, have a successful clutch in the future.
