New parent cocktiles

Thank you for this page.
There are 5 eggs ready to hatch. Omg what do I do? How do I keep them warm.

Answer:

Hi Claudia,

You need to let the parents take care of the chicks if the eggs hatch. If this is their first clutch, they may not hatch. First clutches fail more often than not, so don’t be too disappointed. If the eggs do hatch, make sure you are offering the foods I just mentioned in the other post. Do not try to handfeed the chicks yourself. They have a better chance with the parents. You need to give the parents plenty of privacy or they can end up harming the chicks if they get too nervous. When the chicks get to be a few weeks old, you can try handling one chick at a time from the nest box, for a few minutes, and only if the parents do not get too upset. Let us know if the chicks hatch and how they are doing.

Thank you for asking Lafeber,

Brenda
