Pigeon pairs

Can you keep an uneven number of pigeons together? If not can 2 pair be kept in the same large cage?

Answer:

Hi Jaye,

Pigeons can be kept in flocks together, but for breeding, it is best for each pair to have a cage. Generally odd numbers of birds do not work out. Most pigeon breeders have a large aviary, and each pair has their own little cubby. I would recommend finding someone who races or shows pigeons, and they can give you advice on keeping more than one pair together.

Thank you for asking Lafeber,

Brenda
