Sun Conure Pair

How much human handling does a pair of hand raised Sun Conures need on a daily basis?

Answer:

Hi Meredith,

If the birds are in the same cage, they need to be handled daily. Birds that are caged together will generally end up liking each other better than humans and will become difficult to handle. If these birds are related and are male and female, they should be in separate cages. Related birds should not be allowed to breed, but they will if kept together. For the best in a pet, I would give each bird their own cage. They can still interact when not in the cage, but you will be part of this. They will not bond to each other as strongly if they do not share a cage.

Thank you for asking Lafeber,

Brenda
