So my friend has two budgies in cage of 13x13x13 and they fear everything around them except him and their food and so watched on somewhere where they told me to put cardboard on sides of cages so I recommended him to do the same but I have budgies but I didn’t do it and he has been caring for them since 5 months they brought them their age
6-9 months or something
Please help me to help him his problems are
His budgies fear everything and plus please give some winter budgie care guide and a guide for bonding

Hi,

The main problem is the cage is far too small for one or two budgies. They feel like they have no place to go. Budgies are a prey species, like all parrots, and need to feel secure. They need a large cage with plenty of perches and toys. The cage should be on a stand, and never on the ground. The cage should not be near a doorway where the birds can get startled when someone walks by or into the room. With two birds in a cage, you aren’t going to tame them or bond with them. They are bonded with each other and should only be observed. You should never reach for them because this makes them think a predator is trying to catch them. As long as you talk calmly to them and keep your hands by your side, they are less likely to be scared.
