my parakeet

Hi I’m a pet parakeet owner and I would like some advice on what to do with my pet parakeet my mother is in charge of feeding and where to put the cage but unfortunately my parakeet doesn’t get much attention and usually just spends there day in a cage in a room without barely any stimulation/barely anyone going in there i feel bad for the bird what do you think we should do for her I tell my mother that we should probably put her in a more active part of the house but nothing has happened yet should we move her should we give her a friend should we train her so she can go outside the cage do we need to put more toys in there?

You are correct that your little bird needs to be in a busier place in the home. Parakeets are very social birds that live in large colonies in the wild. A parakeet needs some type of companion – either a human or another bird. If your bird isn’t tame and you aren’t able to tame her or let her out, you might consider getting her a companion. This doesn’t mean you have to let them breed – just do not give them a nesting box. If you want to try to tame her, you will need to get a professional to clip her wings, first. If she can fly, she is likely to hurt herself if you let her out of the cage.
