banner for webinar about Avian Bornavirus(ABV) /Avian Ganglioneuritis(AGNJoin us for this very important FREE, live webinar hosted by Laura Doering, former editor of Bird Talk magazine and Birds USA magazine.

Our special guests, Susan Orosz PhD, DVM, DABVP (Avian), DECZM (Avian) & Bob Dahlhausen, DVM, will begin with answering questions that were submitted by viewers during their last webinar on Avian Bornavirus(ABV) /Avian Ganglioneuritis(AGN).  The doctors will then answer your questions related to this topic LIVE!

This is a complicated topic, because research is ongoing and there continues to be new findings, which seem to bring about more questions. While this will be the final installment of this series, we will continue to revisit this topic as needed in the future.  We recommend viewing the first three ABV/AGN webinars before attending this one: https://youtu.be/4D6SJ70OmoY & https://youtu.be/ZDo71HP82B4 & https://youtu.be/SpByi-TLUeY

  1. Thank you for posting the three previous webinars. I am friend of a feather parrot and cockatoo rescue in Tacoma Washington. I specialize in PTSD and depression of parrots, feather plucking and mutilation, feather nutrition and behavioral issues. I do not rehome. I’m going to be very interested in reading what you have to offer. Today was a really hard day I had one of my Amazon’s bite the beak off of another Amazon and they were cage mates and real close buddies. I have a vet appointment tomorrow but I am willing to feed this bird twice a day by hand for the rest of its life so I am not going to euthanize this bird. I am praying that I can find somebody who can do a prosthesis. I just was able to recognize avian bornavirus in one of the birds that I go to people’s homes and file beaks. That was quite a surprise and a shock to me too see this disease first hand and recommend that the person goes to the avian vet immediately. Thank you again for information regarding this topic.
